Dave DeWalt

Bass Guitar

AKA – Nickname(s):
Hey Davey

Full-time Band member:
1989-2002, 2003-present as fill-in

The primary function I serve in the band is as:
Bass Player

I can also fumble my way through:
About any song given the key and song type

I became interested in music when I was:
A child who couldn’t keep his feet and hands from tapping. It drove my parents nuts!

I started to play music:
in grade school … I picked up a trumpet and continued to play trumpet through 10th grade where I decided that guitar was cooler!

Besides Pieces of Eight, I am:
A full-time bass player for The Remnant out of Chardon

Music is a fun hobby, But in real life in my day job, I am:
An I.T. Manager

Outside of performing with the band, I have a life. In my personal life:
I’m a Grandfather, father, and husband. My hobbies include cooking (making breads, sausage, pickling, grilling, cheese), woodworking (making tables, chairs, night stands, cutting boards, cups, bowls, utensils and frames), fermentation (making alcoholic and vinegar elixirs), and gardening.

When not performing in a band I like to:
Be with my wife and granddaughter, visit my sons, travel, sit and drink a cup of coffee on the porch, watch birds, go for a hike with my wife and/or my son’s dog.

My thoughts on Pieces of Eight are:
Very talented musicians and how the hell do they continue to stay up so late

My favorite band related saying is:
What key is it in?

My favorite memory of being in the band over the years is probably:
Having all the band kids on stage at the Willowick Family Festival.

Oh, I almost forgot, I wanted to add:
Thank you for letting me sit in play with you guys!
